Google Algorithm update “Mobile-Friendliness” and Responsive Website


Again google has change algorithm updates “Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal, This change will affect mobile searchses in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.”

Your website is not responsive theme? or Your website not use “Mobile Only” website like You must consider to look forward and change your theme to be responsive website or mobile support. Based on statistic on Early January 2014 mobile user exceeds Personal Computer user on accessing internet and mobile browser user rising every year.



Mobile Site
Mobile websites are made ​​to other websites specifically for mobile users , mobile users usually visitors will be redirected to this page when accessing websites through mobile devices, typically using as another website. The use of mobile site claimed to have better speed due to the use of javascript and css fewer but in other hand using mobile site is not recommended for Search Engine Optimization because of duplicate content issues.

Responsive Theme
With responsive theme you don’t need to make extra site like “”, you just need one website with flexible theme based on screen resolution. We can do that with CSS3 the latest standard for CSS using @media rule.

There was many support CSS3 command that suited with responsive website need or you can use framework like bootstrap. With bootstrap you don’t need to build css style from start, there was many function and library already create by bootstrap. Of course you must learning components, css library and javascript on the bootstrap first.

Some people say build responsive website more expensive then mobile sites, but as a programmer i would say make mobile sites is more take time then responsive website and more faster if using framework.
